د. بيتروس فيولاكيس أستاذ مساعد - الأمن الوطني بأكاديمية ربدان، وهو باحث أول في مركز جان موني للتميّز في جامعة أثينا كابوديستريان الوطنية، وباحث مشارك في مختبر الاستخبارات والأمن السيبراني ومختبر الاتصالات الإستراتيجية ووسائل الإعلام في جامعة بيرايوس (اليونان).
كما أنه حاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في العلوم السياسية من جامعة إكستر، وماجستير في العلاقات الدولية من جامعة إنديانابوليس، وماجستير إدارة الأعمال (في مجال التسويق)، ودرجة البكالوريوس في علوم الحاسوب من جامعة هيرتفوردشاير.
أحدث أبحاثه المنشورة كانت ضمن مجالات الأمن السيبراني والأمن الوطني والجاهزية والعلوم السياسة والاتصالات الإستراتيجية والأخبار الزائفة وصنع السياسات والدراسات الأوروبية. وبشكل أكثر تحديداً، يبحث في مجال إضفاء الطابع الأوروبي على سياسة الدفاع والأمن لدى دول الاتحاد الأوروبي من خلال وجهات نظر مختلفة والعوامل المساهمة، مثل: السياسة الداخلية، والاقتصاد السياسي، وإنشاء هوية وثقافة أمنية جديدة، والبحث والتطوير والعولمة وغيرها من المؤسسات النافذة مثل (الناتو).
ويتم نشر أبحاثه كفصول مجلدات جماعية تحت عناوين "الهجمات الإلكترونية (السيبرانية) والإكراه الإلكتروني ومصدره" (2022)، "نحو سياسة دفاع وأمن مشتركة: قضايا الهجرة والأمن في شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط "(2021)، "علاقات الناتو والاتحاد الأوروبي: هل استقلال الدفاع عن النفس للاتحاد الأوروبي بشكلٍ أكبر ممكن ومفيد؟ “ (2020) في «التكامل الدفاعي للاتحاد الأوروبي» وفي شكل كتاب أكاديمي (دراسة) بعنوان «الطابع الأوروبي وتحول السياسة الأمنية للاتحاد الأوروبي: تطورات ما بعد الحرب الباردة في السياسة الأمنية والدفاعية المشتركة» (2018) بقلم روتليدج.
كما نشر على نطاق واسع في مجالات سياسة الدفاع في الاتحاد الأوروبي والأزمة الليبية والهوية التركية العثمانية الجديدة وما إلى ذلك.
